BURIED TREASURE WHERE DO YOU FIND IT?
Where should one look to find buried treasure? Would a compass be required, maybe a treasure map would come in handy? When thinking of treasure I think most people visualize old wooden chests that are banded together with rusty pieces of metal.
Something that looks like a pirate hid it a long time ago. Hidden treasure, with all sorts of coins, jewels, and what not. There would have to be a crown or two and a dagger with a huge ruby on it for good measure. This is at least what I visualize when thinking of treasure. There are those that believe that there is still treasure to be found. I agree, but what type of treasure are you looking for? What Is Buried In Your Backyard? Is There Treasure In You? Are There Buried Treasures In Your Children? Is There Treasure In Your Mate? Are There Treasures In Your Parents?
Is There Treasure In Your Backyard?
I'm sure you've heard the story of the African farmer that wanted to be wealthy. Everyone was finding diamonds and here he was stuck on his farm... He sold his farm and set off to find the diamonds that would make him rich! The story doesn't have a happy ending. He spent the rest of his life searching for treasure that he would never find. He ended his life depressed, and without a dime.
That is sad in and of itself, but remember the farm that the man sold? Can you guess what the new owner found one day while planting his crops?
What treasures are in America's back yard? Are we searching in other nations for what we could produce here.
Although the farmer didn't realize just what the unique stone was he liked it. He washed it off and took it home to place it on his mantle. Can you believe the very farm that had been sold turned out to be one of the riches diamond mines in the world. What if the original farmer hadn't sold his farm, what if he had completely explored what he already owed? True there are some people who never look further than their own nose to improve themselves. They sit and complain instead of doing something about their situation. All I ask is that you check out your own backyard before you take off searching for treasure in other places. back to top
Is There Treasure In You?It's time to go exploring. Are there things that you do (baking, art, sew, decorate, computer work, explaining/teaching, etc) that others are always telling you how great you are, or you should sell that. Are there times you can't wait to get off from work so that you can do something you really enjoy? (Now I don't think you can make money sleeping.)
Which leads me to another thought; You get off from work, you're dog tired, and you could go right to bed. But instead you hit the door and hit your project. That's called passion, do you have it? Talent is not always enough. There are many talented people that never make it. Who knows how many "less talented" people are there that do make it. What is the difference?
Three years ago while doing a search on ephod's. I came across a site that had very good information the topic. I knew nothing about web sites. When I typed a question in the little box and clicked enter, up popped a list of web sites on the topic. Pretty sad? On this particular site the gentleman mentioned building your own web site.
That was my first introduction to SBI.
I had never contemplated building my own web site. I did know that I wanted to share and help other women. After a few months of research I decided to give it a try. I am glad I did. Here I am today still learning. This isn't the best site in the world :-) but it's a labor of love. There is more to come on this topic. back to top
Buried Treasure In Your ChildrenI know for many of you that would probably be the last place you would ever consider looking for treasure. (smile)
Depending on the age of your child, the treasure you seek may be buried under different things. My theory is, the older the child, the deeper you may have to dig to locate treasure.
Picture a fifteen year old that displays a hard callous exterior. I dare say that nine times out of ten there is buried treasure hidden within that child. In an attempt to shut out hurt, fear, and injustices... children and adults alike may put on masks or become introverted to protect themselves. What might appear as a rebellious teenager, may be a young person crying out for love and attention.
Try to picture that same teenager between the ages of one and oh let's say six or seven. Smiling, carefree, getting into everything, and full of questions. What has buried the sweet loving bundle of joy? Could it be hopelessness?
This is not the case with every child, however far to many of our youth 'tap out' or seemingly give up on life. I dare you to not give up on your child... no matter how old he or she is. Within that child are many hopes, dreams and aspirations.
It's easy for us to get wrapped up in what is going ' wrong' in our life, or how busy we are trying to reach our own dreams and aspirations. You may even say what's the point? My child doesn't talk to me anyway.
If you happen to be a person of faith, (even if you aren't) start by praying. Next be kind, show interest in your child. Be prepared for skepticism, especially if your child isn't used to you showing kindnesses.
