AOR?

Yes Ladies We Do Have Them.

I hear some of you saying "How can I have an 'AOR' when I don't even know what it is". The acronym AOR stands for 'Area Of Responsibility'.

Well ladies unfortunately we can have something and not be aware of it. It can be as simple as a can of vegetables pushed to the back of your pantry. It can also be as serious as a lump in your breast.
Are we expected to know everything about any and all things?
Knowing everything may be next to impossible.
I won't go so far to say impossible. There might be a genius out there in 'cyber' land that would beg to differ with me.

The military uses the acronym to refer to the geographic region assigned to a strategic military command. For the purpose of this particular web page; your body is the geographic region that you are to be in command of.

You are responsible for your body.

How many of you can raise your hand to affirm that sometimes there is a battle going on between your mouth and your better judgment?

  • Something like whether or not a healthy green salad (with the dressing on the side) or two hand fulls of Lays potato chips goes into your mouth.
  • My hand went up first.
  • Do you sometimes say "yes" when you should say no?
  • Yes
  • Do more negative statements come out of your mouth (in comparison to positive statements)?
  • I can answer no to this one. :-)

Let's move from the 'mouth' to other areas.

  • How many of you do self breast exams each month?
  • My hand did not go up...
  • How many of you keep track of the money that flows in and out of your hands each month?
  • I put my hand up half way... does that count?

  • Do you have a regular exercise regiment?
  • Almost

I'm not doing to good on my own test. :( This strengthens my views.

We can all use a little help from our
    sisters from time to time.
No man or woman is an island. I took this picture while on a hike with my daughters. We stood and watched the turtles sun themselves on the rock. As I watched the turtles I had to take some pictures. The turtles reminded me of my four adult children.

The turtles listed from left to right. Fourth son, Second son, first daughter, third daughter. All was peaceful until the turtle on the right (my third child) began to push. Then her older sister began to help. Off the boys went into the water. Eventually she had the rock all to herself, because she pushed her sister into the pond. Now when your sister helps you I trust you will not push her into the brink.

I just couldn't resist sharing the pictures and the story. The turtles represented my children well. The boys were minding their business looking out over the water, and then the trouble started. We had a good laugh that afternoon.

On this page I want to encourage you to take responsibility of your rock where ever it is.

We will learn more about our AOR
